Like all great stories, this is a story of people and of journey. In this story, three people took three different journeys and all arrived in the same place, a place where they all dreamed the same dream: God’s dream to see people healed and whole. Living Water is the manifestation of that dream.
Cindy Kilgore had a transformational experience with inner healing prayer in 2007 and was instantly filled with passion to see healing transformation take place in the lives of others. She dedicated herself to learning techniques and then teaching them to individuals. She introduced the SOZO healing prayer model to several churches in San Antonio. As time went on, she began to see that in addition to improving their spiritual health, many of the people she ministered to needed practical advice and support to get physically healthy. She began to dream of a healing center that incorporated health coaching support alongside inner healing prayer. So, she prayed, and she waited.
Paula McDaniel knew she was called and destined to provide counsel to others since her childhood, and served in many helper positions for various organizations, while also raising an active family - until her life crashed into an unexpected cascade of debilitating health challenges in 2010. During this painful time, she discovered the importance of biblical nutrition, of activating spiritual gifts for healing, and of inner healing prayer as a counseling intervention. Born of the significant challenges of this season, God gave her a vision to someday open a healing center that addressed the needs of body, soul and spirit. So, as she recovered, she returned to school and earned a Master’s degree in Human Services Counseling with an emphasis in Life Coaching, and she waited.
Meanwhile, in 2010, Mary Perlitz felt a supernatural prompting to purchase 31 acres of beautiful Texas hill country, north of San Antonio. She felt strongly impressed that the land was to be used for “kingdom work and eternal purposes,” although she didn’t know exactly how. As a professional wedding stager, she dreamed of using it to build a beautiful wedding venue, as well as a retreat center…some day. So, she bought the land, and she waited.
Then one day, through a cherished mutual friend named Teresa, Cindy and Paula met. They were amazed to discover that their individual journeys had led them to dreams that were identical, that their visions were identical, and that the mission they were each called to was also completely identical!
Even more amazingly, one of Paula’s Health Coaching clients and one of Cindy’s Freedom Prayer clients had identical dreams in which they were each at a healing center run by Paula and Cindy. When Paula’s client described the location of the center in the dream, Paula realized the client was describing her friend Mary's property. Cindy’s client also described the location in her dream and it was identical to Mary’s property as well. Subsequently, Paula and Cindy met with Mary and outlined the vision of Living Water Healing Center. They asked her if she thought that Living Water Healing Center could be the “kingdom work and eternal purpose” for which she had felt led to buy the land. Mary said, “YES!” - and Living Water Healing Center had a home!
Living Water Healing Center officially opened on September 4, 2016, We provide men, women and families with prayer, nutrition and Life Coaching, and more importantly, a place to heal and restore, holistically… body, soul and spirit. But the best part of “Our Story” is that it’s still being written, and more people are becoming part of it every day! We are still people on the journey, but now we are journeying together. As we continue to grow in vision and ministry capacity, the story will only get bigger – and better! We are excited for you to come alongside us to experience the journey.
We affirm the history Christian faith as summarized in the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds. Therefore, we believe that true healing comes from the Father in the name of Jesus, the Lord, by the power of the Spirit.
We believe that the primal disobedience of the human race resulted in spiritual, relational, intellectual, emotional, physical, and societal brokenness. Scripture calls this reality “the world” and “the flesh.”
We believe that God’s healing power is available today and that one of the signs of the in-breaking of the kingdom of God into “this world” is the healing of the brokenness of our lives.
We believe that physical and emotional healing must be put into the context of the ultimate healing process of salvation by God’s grace. Temporal healing is both a foreshadowing of and a participation in the eternal healing that God will accomplish at the “revealing of the sons of God” (Romans 8:19).
We believe that healing is the work of the Holy Spirit and He restores health and wholeness in Jesus’ name, leads people into truth, opens their hearts to receive the Father’s love, and calls them to participate in the transforming of society. Healing is the fruit of the Spirit’s work, not a result of manmade techniques. We are absolutely dependent on Him.
We believe that the Bible, God’s inspired and authoritative Word, is foundational to God’s healing work in our lives. The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to expose lies, to reveal truth and to guide His people.
We believe that, while the Sovereign Lord may heal a person directly, He most often mediates the gifts of His healing through the Body of Christ, the Church.
We believe that Christ’s Church is in a spiritual battle “against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12) and that we are most effective in that battle when we are unified under the Headship of Christ. Though our current divisions cause us deep pain, we believe that the unity of the Spirit (Ephesians 4:1) is a spiritual reality and our motivation for cooperation in ministry beyond denominational bounds.
